ISI 2013

English

We take two subjects at this level: Language and Literature. We follow the Cambridge International Examinations courses in International General Certificate in Education (IGCSE).

Students do not submit coursework in either course. For Language, they have a Reading examination and a Writing examination, each of which comprises 50% of their overall score. Currently, Literature has one long examination in which students are tested on a play, a novel and a selection of poems; the other examines close reading skills in an examination (where they comment on a text that is brand new to them). After this year, there will be three papers: One on Prose and Poetry (50%); another on Drama (25%) and a third which is ‘unseen’ (25%).
