Our programme is one of the few in the country that can boast a comprehensive day-to-day sports science support package for the athletes in our care.
With a fully qualified medical team on site in our Health Centre (plus, exemplary and formalised links with physiotherapists, Paris Payne and Alison Morton, and Sports Doctor, Mike Burdon, who is very well-established) students are cared for via the College’s highly recommended Health Insurance scheme.
Our Chartered Physiotherapists have treatment rooms both in the College’s medical centre and at the Life Centre. Our Sport Massage Therapist also works under these flexible conditions and will often visit the boarding house to undergo this work on an ‘as-needs’ basis, whilst iCool Sport Ice Bath systems are also available to aid recovery and regeneration at the Life Centre.
Partnerships with both Plymouth University and University of St Mark and St John in the city ensure that services from physiologists, biomechanists, nutrionists and sports psychologists are available on an ‘as-needs’ basis.
Our Performance Analysis Manager ensures that race models and profiles are always on- hand at key meets throughout the season.
Conference rooms for education sessions, target setting and reflective practice are available at both swimming venues.
