Climbing

Climbing for Years 7 - 10 runs on a Tuesday after school from 3.45pm – 5.00pm.

We make use of the school wall along with the local walls at the life centre and Marjon University to allow students to develop their climbing.

At the end of each term, we run a trip to a wall further afield. We also enter local climbing competitions. This year we came 4th in the South West Schools’ Climbing Competition

Sixth Form and year 11 students get the option to chose climbing as part of their games session on a Wednesday afternoon. Where possible we climb and boulder outdoors, but when the weather lets us down we head to one of the many local indoor climbing walls.

The club usually attracts those who are new to the sport but we do have a core of individuals who return looking to push their ability.

Climbers from all years are often brought together for climbing competitions; recent successes include one student narrowly missing out on being chosen for the British Climbing team this year
