Future Council

A small group of internationally minded students at Plymouth College meet regularly to plan small and symbolic activities with a sustainability theme.

Previous projects have included the design and installation of a now popular outdoor classroom made of living willow to enhance the school's learning environment; helping to conserve a rare breed of chicken by maintaining a small flock here at the school and installing a wildlife pond.

The current project is the continued development of the ‘Gutter Grow’ system for cultivating fresh herbs, vegetables and fruit on the roof of the school refectory, meaning that some of the ingredients for school dinners are very locally sourced!

A future project is to develop a way for the school to demonstrate its international World School ethos via utilising the flag mast at the front of the school on appropriate days of the year, and organising an annual international celebration.
