Equestrian

Students participating in the Plymouth College Modern Pentathlon programme have two different opportunities to ride.

For beginners and novice riders we run a club at Cheston Farm Equestrian Centre, where students develop and improve their control of paces on a horse, as well as learning to jump individual fences and small courses.

For more experienced horse riders we run a Pentathlon-specific evening also at Chasten Farm Equestrian Centre, where the students have access to competition horses and lessons are dedicated towards replicating the conditions of a pentathlon riding competition.

They ride a range of horses and ponies and are taught how to get the best out of their mount in a short period of time before completing a full show jumping course.

There is also opportunity for students to participate in jumping competitions held at the centre, using Cheston's horses.
