Strength and Conditioning

Plymouth College recognises the importance of suitable professional guidance for developing rugby players, particularly with regards to physical development.

To this end, there are three supervised sessions of S and C per week, with each student receiving physical screening to determine strengths and weaknesses. Core stability, flexibility and mobility form part of every session and, depending on the time of year, strength activities form the bulk of the remainder of sessions. The College also makes use of outside expertise, including medal winning Commonwealth athletes and coaches, such as Katherine Endacott, Plymouth Albion’s Strength and Conditioning coordinator, currently James Owen, and outside agencies to provide education and advice on specialist areas such as nutrition.
