CeFS and DipFS

The Certificate in Financial Studies (CeFS) is a challenging and comprehensive qualification covering the core disciplines of financial capability. Through self-study learners are encouraged to develop their knowledge and skills required to make informed financial decisions by understanding the risks and challenges involved in personal finance and to tools for effective planning.

A formal qualification is awarded upon completion of two units: Unit 1 – Financial Capability for the Immediate and Short Term and Unit 2 – Financial Capability for the Medium and Long Term. These units are both externally assessed via one multiple-choice e-test and an essay responses paper based on a pre-released case study. CeFS can attract up to 70 UCAS tariff points which contribute to university entry. However, it should be noted that this qualification is challenging and involves significant independent work if a desirable outcome is to be achieved. The DipFS is the Dilpoma extension of the Finance course, available in the second year of study.
