Victoria Stace

Victoria was a Senior Prefect and was on the School Council.  She is reading Fashion Management at the University of Arts, London...

“I joined Plymouth College in the Sixth Form, having previously attended a local grammar school where I thrived and gained some of the top GCSE results for the year.  However, I desired a change and more fulfilling environment for Sixth Form.

My search began for a different school where I could get the best of both worlds. Plymouth College stood out; a place where great academics could be achieved whilst maintaining a social life with endless opportunities for students. There is always something going on at Plymouth College!

I studied Product Design: Textiles, Photography, Economics with Business Studies and Maths, with an aim to working in the fashion industry, gaining A*A*A B at A2 level this summer.  I am now studying Fashion Management BA (Hons) at the University of the Arts of London at the London College of Fashion campus; one of the worlds’ top 10 institutes for fashion.   An extremely competitive course with thousands of applicants for only a hundred spaces; selection was based on the personal statement alone. I thoroughly believe if it wasn’t for the opportunities at Plymouth College; such as being a Senior Prefect and Year 7 Form Prefect, as well as representing the school in the You’re Hired competition and Base Consulting and Accountancy competition, to mention but a few, my application would not have stood out.  These opportunities, not only gave me vital skills such as communication and team working but also experience in public speaking and undertaking leadership roles.  This was all supported through a wonderful staff team dedicated to perfecting and aiding UCAS applications helping to make it all seem less daunting and achievable.

Plymouth College was the best couple years of my life; I know my parents firmly believe it was the best investment they ever made.  Therefore, if you are reading this now I strongly suggest you make the decision to send your son or daughter to Plymouth College, it is not one you will regret!”
