James Brent, Chairman of Plymouth Argyle and of the Akkeron Group of companies, has paid a second visit to Plymouth College’s Entrepreneurial Society (ESOC).

Also Chairman of the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust and of Plymouth University, Mr Brent hosted a question and answer session. Students raised topics such as the EU and how leaving it would affect his businesses; the reward of promotion and the price of failure as Argyle approaches the play offs for a second year running; the benefits and difficulties of outsourcing to China; and the future of Argyle, its grandstand and redevelopment plans.

ESOC committee member, Oscar Marsland, chaired the session.

The aim of ESOC is to bring business and economics alive for students and to promote enterprise and leadership in them. Previous guests include Reggae Reggae Sauce creator, Levi Roots; Wetherspoons founder, Tim Martin; Fat Face founder, Tim Slade; MP Gary Streeter; Two Four CEO, Melanie Leach and The Range founder, Chris Dawson.
