On Wednesday 26th September, 29 Plymouth College swimmers travelled to Millfield to compete at the 2018 English Schools' Divisional Championships. The Championships consisted of a 4x50m Freestyle relay and 4x50m Medley relay for Juniors (Years 7 and 8), Intermediates (Years 9 and 10) and Seniors (Years 11-13). The team performed very well against some tough competition and was placed in the top 4 in 8 out of the 12 races.
We now wait in excitement to find out whether our teams have qualified for the finals, which are held in London on November 17th. Roberto Pavoni, Deputy Director of Swimming, said: ‘the top 20 teams in the country will be invited to the finals, which will be an incredible experience for the swimmers as they will have the opportunity to race against the best schools in the country at the venue of the 2012 London Olympics. The environment will provide our swimmers with great inspiration and motivation to lift their performances. Well done to all our swimmers for their efforts.’
