U11 Hockey team qualify for regional finals

In horrendous conditions, our U11 team played in the county round of the In2Hockey tournament with the top two teams progressing to the West of England regional finals.

Meeting Maynards and Blundells in their pool, the girls did not play their best hockey of the season. They lost to Blundells but managed to beat Maynards 1-0 with a goal from Chloe, qualifying them for the semi-finals. After their heavy defeat to Blundells, the girls showed great resilience and character in the pouring rain, and managed to beat West Buckland, winners of the other pool 1-0 with a goal from Maggie, meaning that they had not only qualified for the final, but for the regional round to be held at Millfied School in March.

Although the team narrowly lost to Blundells in the final, the girls showed an enormous improvement in skills, attitude and the ability to work together and should be incredibly proud of their achievement, and we look forward to representing Devon in the Spring.
