Year 1 learn where they live
Published: 21 April, 2011
The Year 1 children have been learning their addresses,
including the all important post code.
Each class posted two letters addressed to the Prep
School. One letter was sent with a first class stamp and the
other with a second class stamp. The first class letters were
delivered to the classroom the very next day.
Steve Blake, from the Royal Mail Sorting Office, came in to talk
to the children about the history of the Royal Mail and how the
sorting office works today. He brought the official franking
stamp with him and everybody franked a self-addressed envelope with
a first class stamp. The children were very excited when
their letters reached their homes one day later.
