Devon Girls are U15 National Cricket Champions - 22/9/08

Plymouth College pupils Julia Hayes, Ellie Hall and Katie Greenwood are celebrating after being part of the Devon girls cricket team that beat Wales in the ECB Girls National Cricket Cup Final on Saturday.  The team qualified for the final after beating Essex a couple of weeks a go. 

A shaky start saw Devon score just 23 for 4 but the batting was turned around by Julia who scored 51 runs.  Ellie got a significant stumping as wicket keeper in the second half of the fielding and Katie has been a valuable member of the squad throughout the season with her batting and fielding. Devon's final score was 144-8 from 35 overs, getting Wales out for 85.
