Equestrian team qualify for national finals - 14/10/09

A challenging five metre course with nine show jumps and eleven crosscountry jumps, saw the Plymouth College equestrian team secure a place in the National Schools Eventers Challenge. 

The regional event held at Millfield School saw Suzannah Kellagher (Heliana), Poppy Le Marechal (Murphy's Shadow), Bobbie Moore (Grandesign) and Morwenna Moore (Typical Star) - all pictured below - clinch third place with points awarded for both time and style.  Bobbie and Suzannah were 5th and 6th respectively.  The national final takes place in Bedford at the end of November.

In the 90 cm scurry class at the same event, Poppy (right) came 1st in a time of 43.69 seconds, Suzannah was 3rd (45.50) and Morwenna took 6th place (47.78).

In other equestrian news, Plymouth College were the second equestrian team in Devon in the Websouthwest Schools Showjumping competition.  Competing against 24 teams, Sammy Cotton, Jessica Cronk, Alex Moore and Morwenna Moore finished 7th in the South West.
