World diver and Plymouth College pupil, Tom Daley, has taken the
silver medal in the 10m platform final at the British Gas National
Cup. Held at Sheffield's Ponds Forge, Tom was runner-up to
2004 Olympic silver medallist, Peter Waterfield.
His first major competition since becoming World Champion last
summer, Tom finished 40 points behind Waterfield on 483.60.
Despite his slight disappointment at not clinching the gold, Tom
was delighted to score 8.5s with his new dive - the back 2.5
somersaults with 2.5 twists.
