Horse of the Year Show for equestrian star - 8/7/10

Freddie Thompson, 13, has qualified for the Horse of the Year Show.  He has clinched one of just 22 places at the prestigious show in Birmingham in October.

Riding Powys Jack Flash in the Ridden, Mountain and Moorland Ponies Welsh Section A Class, Freddie was selected after an outstanding performance at this year's Royal Cornwall Show where he won a gold medal.  His success was all the more impressive because he was competing against adults.

Freddie, who has been riding since he was three years old, said: "It's very hard to get in to the Horse of the Year Show so I am really pleased that I've been selected."
