Up-and-coming Plymouth College rugby star, Tom Mumford, 16, from
Noss Mayo, has secured a place on the U16 South West rugby
team.
A member of the school's senior rugby squad and U16 Devon vice
captain, Tom won his place after attending selection camps at
Bryanston and Wellington College just after Christmas.
First up is a training weekend in Wiltshire followed by a
tournament in Coventry in February against the North, Midlands and
South East. Tom will be looking to impress at the tournament,
which will be attended by England observers responsible for
selecting players for the U16 England squad.
"I'm delighted to make the South West team", said Tom.
"It's been a lot of hard work but I'm really looking forward to
playing at regional level. I'm now more determined than ever
to go all the way and get a place on the U16 England team."
