Prep 1st rugby team beat Blundell’s
Published: 04 November, 2011
Plymouth College Preparatory School's first team played their
second match of the season against Blundell's Prep.
Having been beaten heavily for the last couple of years there
was nervousness in the team to start off with. For the first
quarter of the match it was a bruising affair with the score 14-12
to Plymouth.
The forwards then began to dominate the game. The front row of
Sam Sair, Alex Smith, and Tommy Trathen were ably supported by Ben
Chalton and Henry Burrows in the second row. Plymouth won most of
the set scrums and line outs, starving the Blundell's backs of
possession. The Plymouth tries were all scored by good strong
forward work - Ben Chalton 3 and Alex Smith 1, with George Spencer
making 4 conversions.
All the team kept their discipline and deserved to come out
winners 28-12.
