Emily and Poppy to compete in national running event

Talented Plymouth College athletes, Emily Ackford, 13, (right) and Poppy Tank, 14, (left) will represent the South West at the National English Schools Cross Country Championships.  The girls qualified for the team after finishing in 4^th and 6^th place respectively in the South West event where they ran for Devon.

At the national championships, being held in Somerset in March, Emily and Poppy will compete in the Junior Girls' category against 300 runners from regions around the country.

Both the girls are used to competing at this level and have won a clutch of medals between them in various cross country and track and field competitions in the last 12 months.
