Ruta fastest qualifier for Olympic final!

Plymouth College pupil and emerging Olympic swimming star, Ruta Meilutyte, 15, has qualified for the final of tomorrow's 100m breaststroke in London 2012.

The talented athlete broke the European record and knocked two seconds off her personal best to go into the final as the fastest qualifier.

Ruta appeared shell-shocked after the race and had previously said that she would be happy just to make the semi-final.  Her coach and Plymouth College Director of Swimming, Jon Rudd, was 'blown away' by Ruta's performance as was everyone at Plymouth College.  The school community will be avidly watching tomorrow's final.
