Personal and Social Education (PSE)

Children in Years 4 - 6 have one PSE lesson per week. The aim is to develop the children's confidence and self esteem. We encourage pupils to consider the feelings and needs of others. We emphasise the standards expected, both in school and outside, and help equip the children with life skills. A varied programme of health education is an essential part of this PSE programme.

PSE work is approached in different ways. Sometimes the children do work in folders, at other times the approach is more on the art/dram side. Outside speakers are arranged and the School Nurse comes in to help with relevant areas of study such as First Aid.

There is always plenty of opportunity for discussion, both on a group and on an individual basis.
