Weekly Boarding
From September 2012, our home-from-home boarding community will
be enhanced by a brand-new and affordable weekly-boarding service,
making our vibrant and thriving school more accessible to young
people across Devon, Cornwall and beyond.
Weekly boarding offers the perfect balance for young people who
want to get the most out of their education experience Monday to
Friday, but want a life outside of school with friends and family
at the weekends. Integrated throughout College House and with specialist houses for
Sixth Form, weekly boarders will very much be part of the boarding
family and will receive the same level of care and opportunity as
full boarders. The boarding experience aids personal
development and is an invaluable introduction to independent
living, particularly for Sixth Formers.
With no daily commute, boarding pupils start the day with a
leisurely and hearty breakfast knowing that their first lesson is
just a few steps away. With an extensive enrichment programme
completing the school day, boarders then get homework out of the
way before embarking on supper in the dining room. Boarding
is a really friendly community and there are always a range of
evening activities to join in with, whether it's a game of
badminton in the sports hall, a swim in the pool, playing on the
wii in the common room, chatting over coffee and biscuits in the
kitchen, practising the piano or even doing more homework!
Starting from under £16,000 a year, this highly-competitive
package is available on a term by term basis four nights a week and
includes academic fees, dedicated bed and all meals, laundry
service and evening activities.
Weekly Boarding fees per term:
Years 7-8 £5318
Years 9-11 £5563
Sixth Form £5778
With preferential rail travel rates for Plymouth College pupils
and a weekly minibus service from various areas across the South
West (subject to demand), weekly boarding at Plymouth College is
too good to miss!
