Tom Gurney at the Sprint 15 40th Anniversary National Championships at Weymouth

Year 9 pupil, Tom Gurney, managed to gain 16th overall out of 46 boats and came 2nd in the Youth Class at the Sprint 15 40^th Anniversary National Championships at Weymouth.

The Youth Class is part of the whole event, and although competitors are given separate results they sail in the main class along with every other competitor. There was tough competition in the Youth Class, with only 1 point separating the top 3. Tom gave an exceptional performance, and was awarded a trophy for putting in some brilliant results and ‘showing the rest of us the way round!’

Tom’s overall score was 16^th out of 56 competitors, of which he was the youngest. Congratulations Tom!
