Prep pupils excel in festival

More than 70 pupils from Plymouth College Preparatory School took part in the Plymouth Festival of Speech and Drama this year.

The children competed in a range of classes across the age groups from 6 years and under through to 13 years and under. First places were won by:

• Olivia Eadie - Humorous Verse 7 years and under
• Joshua Thomas-North - Humorous Verse 8 and 9 years; 9 years Solo Verse Speaking
• Safiyyah Rujak - under 11 years Solo Verse Speaking
• Rebecca Eadie - Solo Verse Speaking 11-14 years; Original Composition Verse 12 years and under; Personal Project 10 and 11 years
• Joanna Sells - Solo Acting (monologue) 11 years and under; Solo Acting (from and play) 11 years and under
• Megan Shorey - Lyrical Verse 13 years and under

There were also eight runners up.

Most of the children are coached by Mrs Pick. Mrs Blake coaches Joanna Sells and Mrs Eadie coaches Rebecca and Olivia Eadie.
