Runners to compete for Devon in UK cross country championships

Plymouth College runners Poppy Tank, 18, and Sam Malcolm, 13, will represent Devon in the UK Inter-Counties Cross Country Championships in Birmingham in March.

Sam (pictured) has made the 8-man Devon team in his first season running cross country with City of Plymouth Athletics Club.  He came 8^th in the Devon Championships and made his inaugural outing for the county in the South West event in December.

Fellow City of Plymouth AC member, Poppy, is having one of her best ever seasons.  Having won the Devon County Championships, she is also the Devon Schools’ and South West Schools’ Cross Country Champion.  As well as the UK Inter-Counties Championships (12^th March), Poppy will be competing in the English School’s Cross Country Championships (5^th March), where she hopes to improve on last year’s 4^th place finish.
