Ben Andrews represented Great Britain in the U17 Mens Epee in Copenhagen Denmark on the 10th December.

A good round of poule fights against Canadian, Italian, Swedish, Estonian, Finnish  and Swiss fencers saw Ben ranked 18th going in to the direct elimination rounds.  This gave Ben a bye from the 256 to the 128 round of fencers.  A confident performance lead to a win over a Greek fencer which resulted in Ben facing the European No. 1 Italian national fencer Leone Frencesco.  Leone who has had Golds in Bon and Grenoble and Silver in France this year was a great opponent however, Ben sealed a convincing 15 13 win into the top 16.

Ben finished the tournament in 13th place, his highest place to date an a European competition and the highest placed of all British Fencers.

Following two previous top 32 positions this season (26th Klagenfurt, Austria and 24th Grenoble, France) this top 16 place guarantees Ben British Team selection for the European U17 Championship in Bulgaria in February.
