Girls' Rugby

This week saw the beginning of the Girls' Rugby team and even though the weather was nothing short of a typical November afternoon, there were smiles and laughs all round for our Lower Sixth girls.

Enterprise Club

Prepare your pennies, Enterprise Club are busy in their Christmas workshop preparing decorations, gift tags and surprises for you to adorn your beautiful homes and presents. Call it 'Vintage' call it 'Old Book Craft', Year 9 students are using their stills of ingenuity and craftsmanship to create beautiful products using disused classics text books, to provide unique, stunning items.

These will be available for sale from Thursday 26th November, payment will be made via Parent Pay and your products will be sent home via your son/daughter.

We hope you will support us in our endeavours.

LAMDA Success

A huge congratulations to Year 8 pupils Ethan, who achieved Distinction in his Level 1 Solo Acting and Alice, who achieved a Distinction in Level 1 in her Speaking Verse and Prose.

Politics and Debate

Having looked at a variety of topics since September, this week we decided to turn our focus to the prevalent subject of ‘Trump’s Four Years’. Assessing whether or not he improved the USA led to some intense debate, addressing a range of areas including economic and foreign policy, his stance on immigration and, of course, his infamous Twitter account.

It would be an injustice to declare a winner of the debate. The side arguing against Trump utilised a variety of examples to support their statements, referencing inflammatory social injustice and failures in the Sino-US trade war. Despite hinting at the incumbent’s responsibility for the rise in polarisation and ‘fake news’, they eventually had to concede to the argument around Trump’s successes in improving the economic state of America, even if it was only a short-term mirage.

Plymouth College Explorers

Our Plymouth College explorers had loads of fun in making camp fires and toasting marshmallows this week with Dr Jordan!
