Pentathletes take top spots in German Championships

Plymouth College Modern Pentathlon scholar, Anne Kleidon, 16, has taken the Youth B title in the German Pentathlon Championships held in Berlin. 

Currently 1^st in her age group in the German rankings, Anne is hopeful for a place on the German team in the Youth B European Championships in Portugal in July.

Fellow Plymouth College pupil, Tobias Hierl, 16, came 3^rd in the Youth A age group at the Men’s International Open, also in Berlin. Coming 16^th overall, he fenced the Olympic champion and claimed PBs in the swim, shoot, run and fence. He is currently in the German senior B squad.

Both athletes are part of the Plymouth College Modern Pentathlon and Fencing Academy and are full boarders at the school.

“Anne and Tobias are really starting to make their mark in pentathlon in Germany,” said Director of Modern Pentathlon and Fencing, Andy Hill. “They have busy training and competition schedules so we work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to make sure we get the right balance between sport, studies and rest.”
