Fees

Our detailed fees schedule outlines the investment for your child’s education at Plymouth College, covering tuition and, where applicable, boarding costs for each academic year, which is structured into three terms. Information is clearly presented for different stages of the school, ensuring transparency for parents considering entry into our Prep School, Senior School, or Sixth Form.

The fees listed are effective from the specified academic year, typically commencing in September. We aim to provide clear, upfront information to help families plan effectively for their child’s educational journey with us. Please review the full schedule for specific year group costs.

Scholarships and Bursaries

At Plymouth College we are committed to recognising and nurturing talent in all its forms. Our scholarship programme aims to recruit pupils demonstrating potential for excellence, whether academic, in sport, or in the creative and performing arts, with awards typically valued between 5% to 10% of school fees. All-rounder awards are also available for pupils with multiple talents.

To ensure wider access to our outstanding education, we offer a number of means-tested bursaries. These provide financial assistance to families of talented pupils who might otherwise be unable to afford the fees. We encourage you to explore these valuable opportunities for support.

Insurance

For additional peace of mind, Plymouth College facilitates access to several optional insurance schemes tailored for our pupils. These include a Pupils’ Private Medical Scheme, currently provided by AXA PPP Healthcare, offering private medical treatment should the need arise.

Additionally, a Pupils’ Personal Effects Insurance scheme is available to cover loss or damage to belongings, though please note certain exclusions (such as for most mobile phones and high-value jewellery) and a small excess apply. A group Personal Accident Insurance plan, specially designed for Independent Schools, is also offered, providing cover for pupils in the event of an accident.

Payment Options

We aim to provide flexibility and clarity regarding the payment of school fees. Parents can choose from several convenient payment methods, including bank transfer, most major card payments (excluding AMEX) and Flywire for straightforward international transactions.

In terms of structuring payments, fees are typically due termly, by the first day of each term. Alternatively, our ‘Fees in Advance’ scheme offers a small discount for paying fees annually, with varying discount rates depending on the number of years paid upfront. A Direct Debit option is also available, subject to status and affordability, offering another way to manage payments.
