It is vital to recognise we are not an academically selective school. However, our valued add scores emphasise the significance of the support our pupils receive – encouraging them to work hard and achieve their full potential.
A Level Results 3 Year Average
Plymouth College has a diverse student population and offers a broad academic curriculum. The progress of each individual student is the most important thing for us, and our progress score shows that our Upper Sixth students make above average progress. We are very proud of the results of every one of our young people, who also receive a rounded holistic education in many different areas. Destinations of our leavers include a large proportion who go on to university courses, including at Russell Group and UK Top 10 institutions, as well as a growing number who we successfully support in securing degree apprenticeships and other employment-based routes. We also have a small cohort who gain places at non-UK institutions in the USA and European countries each year. The qualifications that Plymouth College students achieve also include many co-curricular elements, and from 2027 will also include certification of a new skills curriculum that will help equip them for the modern world.

Alongside our A Levels, the Sports Baccalaureate programme consistently has a 100% pass rate, with 50% pupils achieving DDD or above. Destinations and courses for our Sports Baccalaureate pupils are diverse – ranging from Sports Rehabilitation at University of West England and Sport Performance at the University of Bath, to courses in Business Management in Stirling and Criminology at Loughborough.
