At Plymouth college, we are deeply committed to supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), recognising and celebrating the unique strengths, talents and qualities each individual brings to our community.
SEND
SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS & DISABILITIES
We offer a range of tailored support programmes and interventions designed to meet the individual needs of our students. The SENCO provides screening for dyslexia and other learning difficulties, allowing us to identify potential needs early and put appropriate support in place. The SEND team also offers guidance and signposting for families seeking formal diagnoses of SEND through our strong partnerships with external agencies. Our Goal is to provide every pupil with the tools and understanding they need to thrive.
SEND pupils at Plymouth college thrive not only in the classroom but beyond it, with co-curricular clubs playing an important role in their development. These activities provide valuable opportunities for social connection and confidence building.
The SEND team is located in the Hub at Plymouth college which is a warm and welcoming space where everyone is always greeted with kindness and understanding. At the Hub you will find a talented staff body with a SEND specialist, nurse, safeguarding lead and counsellor.
We look forward to welcoming and supporting you on your education journey soon.
