‘Five have fun in Kingsbridge was the title of this year’s Plymouth College Junior School summer production.
Involving nearly 60 pupils from Years 5 and 6, the play was written by Headmaster, Chris Gatherer, and involved lots of singing and dancing.
Based on the Famous Five stories and characters, and set during the Kingsbridge Festival, the story follows a series of adventures involving a hippy Mayor of Kingsbridge, cops and robbers, witches, musical characters and the Statue of Liberty to name but a few.
The production played to two packed houses and raised £215 for St Luke’s Hospice and the Borneo Orang-utan Appeal.
“As ever the children really threw themselves into their performances”, said Headmaster, Chris Gatherer. “The audience were highly entertained and the lively show brought the curtain down… literally… it actually fell down on the last night! Very well done to all the children involved.”
