Plymouth College Rugby teams have enjoyed a successful opening to the new season. The First XV are currently undefeated and have recorded impressive victories over Blundell’s and QEH. Last Saturday six out of eight sides recorded wins over QEH, including the Under 15s who went all of last season without a Saturday victory! “A huge well done goes to those boys who have worked really hard to improve their performances”, said Head of Rugby, Richard Edwards. “The hard work done during pre-season training has already started to show its worth. QEH has a bigger student body than us so these results are particularly pleasing”. The Under 14s are also currently unbeaten and have chalked up two good victories against QEH and Blundell’s. The 2nd XV recorded a tight-fought win over QEH, holding out impressively against bigger opponents to win 8-5 away from home. This is the first victory for the seconds against QEH for a number of years. The West Devon Cup fixtures are now underway and at the senior end of school, the Devon Cup and Daily Mail Cup have also started. The Under 18s defeated DHS 50-0 in the first round of the Daily Mail and face Exmouth CC in the opening round of the Devon Cup later this month.
