Baskets of fruit and vegetables, tins of soup and beans, packets of biscuits and pasta, and boxes of cereals and cakes were just some the bountiful donations brought to the Plymouth College Preparatory School Harvest Festival.
Held in the school chapel at The Millfields, the array of food came from pupils ranging from Kindergarten to Year 6 in aid of the Plymouth homeless charity, Shekinah Mission.
The service, which saw the chapel filled to capacity, was a combination of songs, hymns, poems, readings, music and prayers.
Headmaster, Chris Gatherer, said: “I was overwhelmed with the quantity and variety of the food brought in by the children – everyone brought something in. Supporting a local charity like the Shekinah Mission gives the Harvest Festival service more meaning for the pupils.”
