Oliver Leonard, 13, has broken the British 13 years age group record for 50 metres butterfly.
Previously held by another Plymouth College swimmer, Matthew Powell, Oliver took the record at the Plymouth Leander Open Meet, held at Millfield School.
Oliver joined the school’s elite swimming programme at the start of the summer term this year.
In other swimming news, Natalie Steele and Holly Campbell have been selected for the South West of England team to compete against other European regions at an international meet in Geneva in January.
