Just before Christmas, Plymouth College Preparatory School organised a Christmas appeal for ‘K’ Company 42 Royal Marine Commando.
The troops were on Operations over the Christmas period and did not receive any mail until the end of December when they returned to Khandahar to be greeted by a huge backlog of Christmas mail.
During the course of their belated Christmas party, they took time out to capture the moment of opening the many gifts sent by the pupils and, as you can see from the picture, they were delighted with the contents and the Christmas cards from the children.
The teacher who organised the appeal, Frances Baylis, whose son is part of ‘K’ Company, said: “On behalf of my son and his compatriots a very grateful thank you to all the children and their parents for their generosity and kind actions”.
