Reception classes at Plymouth College Preparatory School experienced an around the world trip by turning their classroom into an airport and aeroplane.
Featuring check-in, customs and passport control, the children boarded the ‘plane’ and went through a full safety announcement courtesy of the 'teacher' air stewardesses.
Wearing holiday clothes, the children made their own passports and brought their luggage into school. Jetting off to Africa, Australia and Europe, each scheduled stop involved a lesson based on the country they were ‘visiting’ before returning to the airport for their next adventure.
“It was a really fun way for the children to learn about different countries and cultures”, said Head of Infants, Sally Raymond-Jones. “It was very exciting to go through the airport procedures, particularly for those who haven’t flown before.”
