‘Upstairs and Downstairs’ was the theme for the Year 1 visit to Saltram House, Plympton.
In the morning, the children visited the kitchen and the laundry to see how hard life was for the servants.
After lunch, they toured the upstairs of the house and saw how the gentry lived. The children then had the chance to dress up in period clothes, which was great fun.
It was a very enriching trip and everyone got to write about it when they got back to class.
