Plymouth College Preparatory School pupil, Poppy Tank, 11, is the National Prep Schools’ U12 1500m champion. Winning in a time of 5 minutes 13.5 seconds, Poppy was competing against some of the top girls in the country. The IAPS event was held at the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham.
Also competing was Harriet Mitchell, who came 4th in the Hurdles, and Harmony Rump, who was 4th in the 100m. The relay team of Poppy, Harriet, Harmony and Phoebe Ham also came 4th.
PE teacher, Sue Butcher, said: “All the girls did really well but we are particularly proud of Poppy for winning her race and becoming National Champion”.
