Plymouth College 1st XV won their first full fixture of the season with a hard-fought victory over a big and physical Truro College team. Playing at Plymouth Albion, Plymouth started strongly, scoring two tries and taking a healthy 14-0 lead. A further try was disallowed and a penalty goal attempt missed, that would have given Plymouth a strong lead by half time.
Truro came back strongly, though clawing back the deficit and eventually taking the lead with ten minutes to go. Plymouth rallied, though and a strong surge upfield resulted in an infringement, allowing Henry Slade to step up and slot the high pressure winning score.
