Athletes from Plymouth College's prep and senior schools excelled at The South West *Triathlon and Fencing Championships, bringing home three golds, seven silver and two bronze medals.

Of the twenty one who took part, an impressive twelve triathletes qualified for the National Championships being held in Woverhampton at the end of November, and five qualified for the National Fencing Championships being held in Sheffield in February.  The Girls' Youth C and Boys' Youth D triathlon teams also qualified. Two of the four who did not qualify missed out by just one place and the other two are a year too young.

Gold medals came from Myles Pillage (Boys' Youth B triathlon), Megan Woodrow (U16 fencing) and the Girls' Youth C triathlon team (Kelcey Pillage, Alice Rogers, Emily Dinnis).  Silvers went to Harriet Mitchell (Girls' Youth D triathlon), Kelcey Pillage (Girls' Youth C triathlon), Susannah Kellagher (Girls' Youth A triathlon), Georgina Barrington (U18 fencing), Katie Davies-Gregory (U16 fencing), Boys' Youth D triathlon (Myles Pillage, Alex Pillage, Freddie Thompson) and Girls' Youth E triathlon (Alice Simmonds, Annie Crocker, Catherine Bishop, Ellen Murphy) teams.  Alice Rogers (Girls' Youth C triathlon) and Sarah Ham (U16 fencing) took the bronze medals.

"To have so many athletes qualify for the National Championships is incredible", said Director of Modern Pentathlon, Andy Hill.  "Everyone who took part did extremely well and I am particularly proud of the triathletes from the prep school who have only been shooting for three weeks".
