Young swimmers will have the chance to brush up on their technique this Christmas at the Plymouth College Swimming Development Camp. The non-residential camp runs from 28th to 30th December and is open to boys and girls aged nine to 14 years old.
Designed for competitive swimmers, the camp is run by internationally-renowned coaches Jon Rudd and Amanda Booth, who are also head coaches of Plymouth Leander. In addition, Jon has been the Plymouth College Director of Swimming since 2006 and manages the school's elite Swimming Programme.
The three day camp is a mix of pool, land and classroom sessions based on the principles and practices followed by British age group and youth teams. The camp is often split into two groups depending on age and ability to ensure that all swimmers get the most out of the camp.
"We have been running successful swimming development camps at Plymouth College since 2002", said Jon. "First-class swimming and dry land facilities, together with tailored coaching programmes, helps to maximise the potential of the young swimmers that attend. Many pools are closed at this time of the year so the camp allows the swimmers to continue training and get ahead of the game for 2010."
The cost is £150 and includes refreshments and a buffet lunch each day. The menu is specially created to ensure all the right nutritional needs for swimmers are satisfied.
