Year 7 pupils, Ewan Gare and Billy Goord, both aged 11, have been awarded junior black belts in karate.
Members of the Master St James Academy in Plymouth since they were six years old, the boys had to do 500 kicks off each leg in 20 minutes and accurately execute a combination of moves to pass the black belt test.
They train 2-3 times a week and take part in a number of local competitions. They are now working towards their green, bronze, silver and gold stars.
