Georgina Barrington, 17, has been selected for the senior British epeé team for next month's World Cup tournament in Spain. The Plymouth College Modern Pentathlon scholar will compete in Barcelona against some of the best fencers in the world.
No stranger to representing her country, Georgina is also fencing for the Great Britain Cadet and Junior team in Gothenburg, Sweden, a couple of weeks before the World event. She is currently 10th in the senior UK rankings and sixth in the juniors.
"I am really excited to be part of the senior GB team in Barcelona", said Georgina. "Because of my age there is no pressure on me but I will do the very best I can and make the most of my experience, watching and learning from the other fencers when I'm not competing."
