Myles Pillage (12), Alex Pillage (12) and James Murphy (11) have been crowned Year 7 boys' champions in the British Schools' Biathlon Championships. Winning the 50m swim and coming second in the 500m run, Myles also claimed the individual champion title.
The prestigious event was held at Crystal Palace. With all three boys achieving personal best times in the run, they scored a total of 9012 points between them to beat Whitgift School into second place (9000 points) and Kelly College into third place (8832 points).
The competition is organised by Pentathlon GB. Thousands of children from schools around the country take part in the championships with categories for boys and girls from Year 5 up to Sixth Form. The boys were one of eight teams in their year group to qualify for the national final after winning the South West event last term.
"I am delighted that the boys have won the British Schools' title", said Plymouth College Director of Modern Pentathlon, Andy Hill. "They had been training really well leading up to the competition and it is great that all their hard work has paid off. For Myles to be the individual champion is the icing on the cake."
