Plymouth College Preparatory School has been celebrating all things Scandinavian this week with their school play, 'Viking Dawn'.
The cast of 70 pupils from the junior department acted and sang their way through an adventure involving Bjorn-The-Peaceful's quest to become a 'new' Viking in the age of pillaging and plundering.
The play, written by Headmaster, Chris Gatherer, involved trolls, ancient bats and a very loud Viking rock band. As the intrepid Viking warriors set off across the North Sea to raid Britain they had to deal with all the perils the Norse Gods threw at them, before taking on the tribe of Olaf the Valiant and finishing the show with a selection of songs by Abba.
"We had a lot of fun putting on this show", said Chris. "The costumes looked great and the children put on lively performances, really getting into the spirit of the songs."
