Plymouth College under 15s have secured another good result by beating a spirited St Boniface College in the West Devon Cup.
For the first 10 minutes Plymouth College played some excellent rugby - scrummaged, rucked and mauled well - and played with confidence and went through their phases. From an attack on the left hand side of the pitch, quick hands led to Tom Bedford scoring with almost his first touch just to the right of the posts. Simple, good rugby in what were difficult wet and blustery conditions. Unfortunately Tom Dinnis missed the conversion! St Boniface then came back and just before half time scored a try and a superb conversion made it 7-5 at half time to St Boniface.
Against the wind in the second half Plymouth College made it difficult for themselves before Tom Dinnis intercepted a pass when St Boniface were trying to force the game and scored under the posts. He kicked the conversion this time! Shortly afterwards, with renewed confidence and after a great move started by Sashin Gurung's mazy run followed by quick hands again, Paul Habib finished off by scoring in the top corner. Against the elements, Tom Dinnis missed the conversion from the touchline.
As hard as St Boniface pressed, Plymouth College's defence held good and as it became increasingly dark the final whistle arrived Plymouth College running out winners 7-17.
