Plymouth College Preparatory School pupil, Issey Charlesworth, 10, has received a certificate of commitment and £100 from the Music Service for her role in the Plymouth Youth Orchestra.
The violinist was presented with her certificate while the youth orchestra was performing in a concert at Plymouth Pavilions. She was nominated by the orchestra director and conductor, Mrs van der Vliet, for her commitment and dedication to helping to lead the 25-strong orchestra and for inspiring the younger musicians - the orchestra is for children aged 4 to 12 years old.
The talented musician has played the violin since she was five years old. She is working towards her grade 5 examination and is a member of the school orchestra. Issey also competes in festivals and last year won the U14 violin class at the Plymouth Festival.
