Year 7 pupils had a lot of fun celebrating World Book day by bringing fiction to life.
First up was a Mad Hatter's tea party. Held in the school library, the pupils had to come wearing a hat - the madder the better! As in keeping with the Alice in Wonderland story, they had to move round the table after each course.
Later in the day, the library was turned into a crime scene for a Murder Mystery. Discovering the outline of a body, pupils had to turn detective and solve a series of clues to establish the identity of the victim and how the deadly deed had happened.
Much investigation work around the library followed, discovering, for example, the name of a boat (The Plymothian, after the old school magazine), what he (yes, it was a 'he') had been doing with the gold (smuggling, not juggling!) and finding names from the War Memorial boards.
With the crime solved, 'detectives' earned themselves prizes for their shrewd work and insightful skills.
