Plymouth College Preparatory School pupil, Sam Malcolm, 10, has raised more than £300 for children's charity, Clic, with an Easter-themed knitathon.
The Year 5 pupil enlisted the help of his grandmother to knit hundreds of chicks. With each one stuffed with a creme egg and selling for just £1, Sam sold 200 in the first two days! With the chicks in short supply, some of the teachers got in on the act and got their knitting needles out too.
Sam's grandmother had leukemia and his friend had kidney cancer - both have now recovered - so he was very keen to show his support by raising money for a worthy cause like Clic.
"We are really proud of Sam and what he has achieved," said Headmaster, Chris Gatherer. "The time and effort he has put into this is really commendable and he is a real credit to his family and to the school."
